I grew up passionately dancing and moving throughout the world. As a Florida native, the breeze in the palm trees keeps me inspired, especially since my Alma Mater, the University of Tampa is filled with these tropical trees! However, I simply cannot get enough of the mountains or the daily coffee break.
As a choreographer, fitness instructor, and dancer I am constantly in motion, embracing the balance between chaos and stillness.
I am a missionary with an organization called Christ in the City! It is an organization that strives to know, love, and serve the poor. I have been a missionary for the past year and I will be continuing for the 2023-2024 year. My life has changed dramatically and I am eager to see how that continues.
I move to connect with my soul. I dance to create connections with others. I create to communicate with others. I believe that movement is the easiest way to connect to others, and dance is how I can have that conversation. I like to use dance to inspire joy in the audience, in the dancers, and in myself. I also use dance to highlight topics within our world that oftentimes go unnoticed. My works come from any and every possible discipline. Often, the works are directly related to a recent experience in my life. As an artist, my work changes based on the topic I am creating for, I often resort to contemporary work, but I explore in other styles as well. Most recently, I have been interested in exploring cause and effect through different aspects such as temperature, sound, and the butterfly effect. As I collaborate with the dancers, we grow together to understand that causation does not always equal correlation and we explore new ways of thinking about movement and the others in the space. My goal is to make a connection and have a conversation through movement with my dancers and my audience because after all, we all affect each other, one way or another.
